Biology Study Group sign-ups are currently closed. Winter Quarter signups will be open on January 6, 2025.
What are biology study groups? Biology study groups are CLUE assigned groups of 4-6 students who meet once a week with a biology tutor in Mary Gates Hall. Study groups are for one hour, but you are welcome to come before or stay after your study group to use the CLUE space. It is mandatory to attend 7 of the 9 weeks of Fall quarter (i.e. you can miss two sessions). The CLUE biology tutor will work closely with the teaching team of the course to provide relevant problems and activities that can be done during the study group. You are also welcome to bring in problems and concepts you or your group are struggling with!
How can I sign up? Interested students can fill out the Google form in the first week of the quarter. Assignment to a study group is not guaranteed and is dependent on tutor and student availability.
Why should I sign up for this program? This space provides community learning, facilitated by a tutor who recently took the course. As most students probably know, group discussions and collaborative problem-solving often lead to deeper understanding. Additionally, being part of a scheduled study group allows you to stay on top of course material and encourages consistent study habits. Lastly, this is a great space to make friends!
Questions about this program? Please email CLUE (clue@uw.edu) and a member of the CLUE team will respond to your questions.
