CLUE Tutoring

CLUE is currently hiring for the upcoming academic year (Fall 2023- Spring 2024). Hourly pay rates range from $18.69-$21.70 depending on class standing. Drop in Tutors for Chemistry, Physics and Writing. Drop-in tutors provide 1-on-1 support for students in that subject during CLUE's operating hours, either in person or virtually. All drop-in tutors are required to have at least one in person shift. Job # 7630638

Exam Review Tutors for Biology, Chemistry, Math and Physics. Exam Review tutors facilitate exam preparation sessions over Zoom. These positions are mostly virtual and have flexible hours. Exam Review tutors are still required to attend all required in person events, including training and monthly team meetings. Exam Review Lead Tutor. Lead tutors support their tutor team administratively and develop tutoring philosophies. The Exam Review Lead will also be the primary facilitator for at least one Chemistry course each quarter. Hourly pay rates for this position range from $19.70-$22.82. Academic Success Coaching

Academi Success Coaching is currently hiring for the upcoming academic year (Fall 2023- Spring 2024). Allen School Academic Success Coach. The Allen School Academic Success Coach meets with all students one on one to support in building academic skills for success while specifically supporting students within the Paul G. The EOP Support Academic Success Coach meets with all students one on one to support in building academic skills for success while specifically supporting students affiliated with the Office of Minority Affairs & Diversity (OMA&D). Reinstatement Coach. The Reinstatement Coach meets with all students one on one to support in building academic skills for success while specifically supporting students on academic probation, dropped for low scholarship and reinstated to the UW. CLUE Tutoring

  • Discussion Session Leaders are nominated by instructors teaching a specific course. They can be the current TA for the course or a student who has done well that the professor selects. The session leader is hired by ASP to run weekly sessions for that quarter.

No, ASP only hires UW undergraduate and graduate students who will be enrolled full-time through their employment length (typically, one full academic year [Fall, Winter & Spring quarters]). 

ASP hires the bulk of our positions in spring quarter for the next academic year. Positions will be posted on Handshake and linked to on our website. 

As we get many applications, we can only offer top candidates interview offers. Interviews will be conducted during spring quarter after the application closes. All applicants will be contacted with an update of their status by the end of May. 

On occassion, we open positions outside of this hiring cycle. They will be posted on our website and Handshake. 

Yes, you can apply for more than one subject. You cannot be hired to work more than one subject. If you are selected to interview for more than one subject, you can let the hiring committee know your preferred subject team.

Yes, you can apply to multiple coaching positions. You must apply separately on Handshake. You cannot be hired for more than one position. If offered an interview, you will be notified for which position(s).

Read through the position description to see what the required courses are for each of the positions. For CLUE positions- You must pass the course, but there is no minimum GPA requirement for the core courses. 

Our pay rates (hourly) are as follows:

Pay rates are for the 2022-2023 academic year. They are subject to adjustment under the UAW 4121 contract guidelines.
